Water's Edge Guesthouse on Pine Lake
While looking for hotels in the area last weekend (on the presumption
that we would be re-refinishing our floors), I solicited feedback from a
group of friends about possibilities for our family. One of my
acquaintances suggested a small Bed and Breakfast that is located right
on the shore of Pine Lake:
It is only 2 miles away from our home. But there are no kids allowed.
However, I'll keep this in mind the next time we have both sets of
grandparents come visit or any other time when out-of-town guests
congregate to our home (like perhaps at the next Berrett baby blessing).

Appliance Parts Depot
A few days ago Kristy noticed a brown substance creeping down into the
dishwasher basin from the interior of the dishwasher door. So I
disassembled the dishwasher door and found a 1/8" thin sheet of dense
brown material that had been previously adhered to the inside of the
door. The glue was failing and the sheet was slowly sliding down the
inside of the door. Now that it was getting wet it was disintegrating
and disseminating sticky gooey brown chunks all over our dishes. Yuck.
I later learned that the substance is a noise dampener.
After trying a few google searches, I stumbled across this site,
Appliance Parts Depot, that had
very handy exploded parts diagram for my dishwasher. Wow. Nice and
simple. I ordered the parts ($60) in a matter of minutes and now need
simply await their arrival.
A few months ago, my dryer door gasket seal failed. I've been looking
all over for a replacement part for it... even the place where I
originally bought the thing couldn't help me (!). My dryer is kind of
a hoity-toity brand... Asko. It's a very cool product, but just
hard to find replacement parts. Well I'll be a monkey's uncle but
wouldn't you know it, Appliance Parts Depot not only had the exploded
parts diagram for my dryer, but they had the part I needed in stock, and
for only $20! Sweet. Great site.
Motorcycle Maintenance
As I have
mentioned
previously, I own a metallic blue 2000
BMW
R1200c cruiser. It's a wonderful machine. Back when I was
commuting to an office for work, I rode everyday. But now that I work
from home, I rarely get the bike out for a drive.
However, during my most recent ride, the bike turned 15,000 miles and is
now due for a checkup. I've been toying with the idea of doing it myself;
only because I feel like I should be able to do it myself I guess. I found
this BMW Cruiser Tech Page
while surfing the net just now. Looks pretty useful.
