Movie Review: Bride Wars

Title:Bride Wars (2009)
Rating:5/10

Two best girlfriends, played by Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway, becoming engaged in the very pedestrian film, Bride Wars. One friend is aggressive and manipulative (Hudson) while the other friend (Hathaway) is passive and is pushed around quite easily... that is, until they find out that they must share their wedding day at the prestigious Plaza in downtown New York City. As a result, they end up throwing their friendship under the bus. Each attempts to sabotage the others wedding in a tit-for-tat one-upsmanship that includes blue hair dye, excessively dark tanning spray, and other assorted cattiness. Eventually they ruin each others weddings completely and destroy one of their relationships with their would-be husband. (Oops.) The film is a bit trite and can largely be ignored without missing much. Very average.
